Class 33s and 35s
25th July 2007

The 33s are top of my list, although quite why I didn't leap to Portsmouth Harbour more times in the 80s, I don't know, so quite a few "noughts" were missed for haulage. Being a Southern class, I often saw them knocking about, and as a result, became quite attached to them. The Hymeks have only been experienced on preserved lines, not surprisingly. Top bash? Several good moves vice 50s on the Mule, of which 33002 & 33118 dragging a failed 33116 into Waterloo on a turn in 1991 is possibly top of the pile!

There was no "top n tail" loco, reversal out of the works being conducted by operating the train from the 4TC meaning that 008 was "dead" for this and other parts of the trip.
