The first weekend in July 2003 was when the webmaster first met the future Mrs Shergold. As such, I missed the East Lancs Diesel Gala, but Ian Morrish of "The Railway Shed" site was on hand at Ramsbottom to phot 57004 on the 6th with a Bury Bolton Street - Rawtenstall working. 57005 has worked at least one passenger train since it's conversion from 47350 - but not quite in this picture. It is seen here on the rear of the "Solent Syphons" tour at Southampton Maritime, booked to work a later leg of the tour - before being failed and replaced by 57002 (which I still need for haulage!). 57/0s don't seem to get much of a run on passenger trains - it seems that as they are "new", tour operators and preserved railways seem to steer clear. 57007 got a go at the Keighley 2009 gala, but only after attempts to get a 20 or 1st series 37/5 failed. The Bodysnatcher sits at Oxenhope before working the 1200 Keighley service on June 5th.

57012 is seen on the rear of the "Sandblower" tour at Ely on 21st October 2006. It later top and tailed with 60034 on the Middleton Towers branch.

57301 rolls into Sandwell & Dudley on January 7th 2007 with the 1056 Euston - Wolverhampton.

57302 arrives at a drenched Wolverhampton on August 18th 2007 with the ECS for the 1618 to Euston.

57303 waits at Wolverhampton on July 14th 2007 with the 1918 to Euston.

57304 at Nuneaton after working the 0818 Wolverhampton - Euston, on July 7th 2007.

The ECS for the 1418 Wolverhampton - Euston is brought into Wolverhampton by 57305 on 7th January 2007.

57306 at Wolverhampton on January 7th 2007, after working the 1156 from Euston forward from Nuneaton.

57307 arrives at Wolverhampton on July 10th 2004 with the 1135 from Euston.

With the building work on the site of the old Low Level station developing behind the loco, 57308 waits to leave Wolverhampton High Level on July 28th 2007 with the 1018 to Euston.

57309 rolls into Wolverhampton on 25th February 2007, having dragged the 1056 ex-Euston from Nuneaton.

57310 leaves Birmingham New Street on August 29th 2005 with the 1100 Wolverhampton - Euston.

57311 at Nuneaton on July 7th 2007, prior to "dragging" the 1717 Euston - Wolverhampton.

57312 hurries towards Smethwick Rolfe Street on 25th February 2007 with the 1118 Wolverhampton - Euston.

One time NB loco 57313 races through Tipton on July 15th 2006 with the 1418 Wolverhampton - Euston.

In the first few years since it's conversion from a 47, 57314 was a notoriously uncommon loco on the Nuneaton drags. It is seen here arriving at Birmingham New Street on July 2nd 2005 with the 0818 Wolverhampton - Euston. True to form, the loco promptly failed on arrival at Nuneaton!

Two years after the "end" of loco haulage on the London - Birmingham line, and 57315 is seen piloting 90020 on a drag from Nuneaton. The train was the 1156 Euston - Wolverhampton - 22nd July 2007.

57316 is attached to the 1620 Euston - Wolverhampton at Nuneaton on August 5th 2006.

Artistic license here, as this Ronnie is not actually working a passenger train...West Coast Rail's 57601 not only works tours, but sometimes appears as an "ETHEL" style heating component, and is seen here in such a capacity on the rear of the "Wey-Farer" tour at Banbury on 19th April 2008.
